In addition to being effective in the treatment of wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet; BOTOX can be used to reduce wrinkles on the chin. Often called ‘pebbly chin’ (or ‘umeboshi’ in Japanese) due to its resemblance, this condition is caused by the movement of the mentalis and adjacent muscles.

When the young patient featured below visited our clinic she was concerned that the tightening of her lips resulted in a pebbly chin effect.

The doctor injected a small amount of BOTOX into the chin area.

One week after treatment, the young lady’s chin can be seen to be smooth.

Horizontal chin creases, dimpling of the chin, and perioral holds (lines formed above the lips when the mouth is pursed as if kissing) can also be reduced with BOTOX.
